For those who haven’t implemented the update, here are 3 key changes to expect from this revamp:

1. New recent photo dock: In your wall posts page, right below your name, you will find 5 of your most recent photos. These photos are taken either from your recent uploads or tags. As always, you’re in control of which photos you want your friends to see. You can remove photos from the dock by clicking X on the upper right corner of each picture.

2. Highlight relationships: The new FB profile page allows you to highlight family members and other important people in your life, like your best friends, ex-lovers, current sweetheart or coworkers — straight from your profile.

3. New Friendship Page: On the upper right corner of a friend’s revamped FB profile page, you will see a small section containing your tagged photos and mutual friends;?

The biggest question. How do you  Switch/Change to the New Facebook Profile Page?

I have created multiple Facebook Fan Pages for my websites and did not have any trouble up until I created a Facebook Fan Page for the business I just started. I was too confident writing the business name as the Fan Page name. Weeks past and more fans and likes came until a fan asked if the name of the business is really “123SMAYL Phobooth!”. The name should have been 123SMAYL PHOTOBOOTH! I couldn’t believed I misspelled the Facebook Fan Page Name of my business but I did not panic as I know, knowing Facebook, that there should be a way to change the Facebook Fan Page name.

And I searched the Facebook panel, searched, searched and searched. Used every known Search Engine for ways on how to change facebook fan page name and to my dismay, up until now, changing a facebook fan page name is still not possible!

From the Facebook FAQs page:

• It’s not currently possible to edit the name of a Page. If you would like to change your Page name, you will need to delete your Page and recreate it. The Facebook team isn’t able to change Page names for you.

DELETE THE PAGE AND RECREATE IT?! That is not too clever Facebook team!  Facebook has done a lot of innovations for the Online Community and you can give us the feature of “changing a facebook fan page name“. That is not what I have expected.

For now, deleting the page is not an option so I will keep my current misspelled Facebook Fan Page and wait for Facebook to hear thousands of users who had the same misfortune as I did! Oh Gods of Facebook, please hear our prayers!

Upon logging in, I was greeted by a message that my account was compromised and I needed to update my security and password. My Facebook Account Got OWNED! This the copy of the mail that I got in my mail since I failed to take screenshots of my Facebook account since I panicked and almost peed on my pants.

We have detected suspicious activity on your Facebook account and have temporarily suspended your account as a security precaution.

You can regain control of your account by logging into Facebook and following the on-screen instructions.

I don’t share my logins and I only use Facebook at home and the site is bookmarked. I am not sure how this happened and I will start monitoring my account’s activity now. That was not fun at all. I hope that doesn’t happen again.

I had the same problem with a social networking site back in high school. My girlfriend broke up with me due to Friendster. Since she knew my password, she logged in and found out I was sending personal messages to chick I barely know. Eventually, she broke up with me. Can you guess how? She broke up with me through an email she sent using YahooMail! I felt sad because of the breakup but it was funny how the Internet played a big part of that breakup. I was stupid back then, less stupid now.  ^_^

It’s not really the Internet or Facebook or any other Online Social community, it’s stupid people doing stupid things on these sites.  Social networking sites are just the doorways for wives/girlfriends to reconnect with old friends and past lovers. Now it is left to you, to decide if you will opt to do stupid things. As the internet evolves you will see many more social trending but hopefully with less negative connotation as this one.

The Internet is great, really great! I spend most of time in the Internet and my life revolves around it. However, we have to admit that the internet holds powers we are just now starting to un-cover and we are stupid if we don’t recognize that we are in the face of a discovery, always have been.

Paypal currently has a new contest and this time the contest is an application on Facebook and it is called Paypal Wishlist. Starting is really easy. On your first signup, you will get an automatic $1 balance on your account.

Here’s the step to setup your Paypal Wishlist :

1. Login to Facebook Account
2. Click this link to PAYPAL WISHLIST or you can copy this link and paste it in your browser http://apps.facebook.com/paypalwishlist/?ppref=747872518&ref=nf
3. If you are a registered paypal user, type your paypal email address on Enter Email Address box, if not, you can register right away or you can leave that as is and register late.
4. Create your wishlist and share your paypal wishlist to friend, invite friends and earn $1 per referral.

Just an assurance that this is not scam, if you are already signed to Paypal, you can login and you will see this application on the right corner of the page. Trust me, I did my research. ^_^

So what is it that other community sites need to do to overtake Facebook’s popularity? The answer: use the same applications that got Facebook there.

In my own personal opinion, Facebook’s popularity boomed because of two things; games and Facebook IM. Facebook became like an all-in-one community site. It became a place where people can share pictures, play games and chat with each other. Myspace did have the Myspace IM way before Facebook IM but the IM applet was not embedded in the browser as you had to download and install it as a separate client, and that’s where Facebook capitalized.

Now, other community sites are seeing what Facebook is doing, and they are to do the same thing. Myspace has now integrated games as part of their applications. They have also integrated a Facebook-like IM. I tested the Myspace IM once but there seems to be a problem with it. Multiply, another community site, has also integrated the Facebook-like IM just this week.

It seems that every community site is now banking on how Facebook is doing things. I think one major thing that Facebook lacks, and having this will convince me that it has topped Myspace, is music players. Myspace music still is one of my favorite community site application and if Facebook ever gets one like it, it’s Facebook FTW!
